Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand 1965-66
Bridge over Mun River. Ubon on Northern side (right) and Warin Chamrab on Southern (left). The Mun River flows through Thailand and into the Mekong River at the Laotian border. Large pedestrian crowd crossing the bridge. The US Air Force had a large base in Ubon and the US Army had a radio station in Warin.

Movie theater at circle
just before the bridge.
Buses in town, note the left hand drive.

Jonhnny Ubol Jewelery store. Instead of banks many local Thais had there money "invested or saved" in gold jewelery and wore it.
Open air market place, with indoor and outdoor stalls and food vendors.
New Year's Parade. Just like Main Street USA.

Speaking of Main Street, here it is.

Housing off the main street

Street kids selling
orchids.
